Invista’s finance experts are responsible for overseeing all aspects of spending and profitability for our company through internal auditing, key business reporting and analysis metrics, due diligence and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) support. Their work focuses on four primary areas: creation and ownership of financial systems and financial reporting, vision financial systems implementations to support the vision system process, improvement initiatives and guidance for controllers, and spearheading organization process improvements.
It is the one department which, at the end of the day, must analyze and understand the data processed by all other departments in order to form a general conclusion about Invista’s current standing and outlook, and help to profitably manage the business.
Creativity, critical thinking and outstanding communication skills are expected during every project, every time. The ability to effectively communication with all levels of management is also essential as is the flexibility to handle several tasks/demands simultaneously.
Invista’S information technology department is in charge of numerous information operations including: computer operations, data entry, data control, forecasting hardware and software needs, and operations support. They also oversee activities such as data security and recovery, systems analysis, programming, upgrades, user needs assessment, configuration and development, product testing, application deployment and customer follow-up.
The ability to define and implement system software improvements unique to Invista that deliver cost savings or add value. Also, the skill and insight to design solutions that tie applications together to enhance information sharing and reduce workload.
“Big picture” insight is critical, as is the ability to focus on the user in developing, maintaining and improving any of Invista’S information systems. Teamwork & good interpersonal skills are important, as are familiarity and experience in a wide range of Microsoft technologies.
Invista employs several types of engineers with varying responsibilities, including: electrical, mechanical, and chemical engineers. Their jobs may involve designing, analyzing and/or construction of structures, machines, materials, or systems for manufacturing goods.
Invista engineers must be problem solvers; each day, they are charged with creating solutions that do something new or better, are compatible with what exists, and do not compromise what exists.
Critical to their job is ensuring compliance with standards and regulations associated with site operations, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills strong organizational and planning skills; and the ability to work effectively across all levels of the plant organization.
Commercial Development focuses on analyzing investment and acquisition opportunities. By completing detailed industry research, cash flow valuation models, risk analyses, due diligence and transactional and/or contract structuring and negotiating, this department assists Invista in making timely, critical decisions related to current or potential markets, assets, businesses, R&D initiatives and competitive strategies.
Commercial Development faces two key challenges: 1) Providing actionable, forward points of view on Invista’s markets that enable it to capture economic profits, mitigate risk and identify new opportunities to profitably grow, and 2) Analyzing opportunities where information may be quite limited. Both are critical to Invista’s overall success and profit.
In addition to living Invista’s 10 principles and MBM culture, Commercial Development team members should be creative, critical thinkers with very good communication skills. Preferred candidates for employment would have good research and M&A experience and an ability to develop business relationships with team members, businesses and financial institutions.
Invista accountants are responsible for ensuring our company keeps good records and pays taxes and suppliers properly and on time. Examples of specific functions include: preparing budgets for various departments, preparing performance, costs and asset management evaluations, and preparing monthly reconciliations for various accounts receivable accounts and debt-related accounts.
Our accounting department is Invista’s watchdog against risk at all levels; from insuring regulatory agency compliance to meeting tax authority and creditor requirements to the analysis and processing of royalty payments for manufacturing processes or materials.
Every accounting position at Invista demands strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. Excellent written and verbal skills are also essential to the job.
Every Invista division has its own R&D department with a focus on ways to enhance existing products and the development of new products. The departments are involved in activities such as new product development, product testing, analysis and reporting, production & feasibility testing, evaluation, obtaining R&D contracts and funding, performance reporting, and initiating improvements for TD.
Anticipating and identifying product needs in the marketplace, as well as the needs of their Invista division, and working to meet those needs through product development and/or enhancement.
The best candidates will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational and planning skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across all levels of Invista’s organization. He or she must be goal and results oriented.
EH&S is responsible for the safety of employees, operations and the workplace. Risk prevention, development of safety standards and compliance are among the key functions of the job. The position involves a significant amount of record keeping, preparing compliance documents for government agencies, and writing safety regulation documents for distribution within the company.
The safety of our employees is the department’s #1 responsibility, followed by maintaining the safety of our operations and our workplace.
A thorough understanding of official records management, as well as U.S. and global safety regulations, is critical. Working in EH&S also demands excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a working knowledge of chemistry. The ability to interact through written and oral communications with all levels of our organization is also essential.
Internships and co-op positions at Invista provide undergraduate and graduate students, and new graduates, the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment for a global business. These are hands-on positions that help prepare students for successful careers in a variety of fields, from engineering to finance to product research & development. Interns and co-ops perform a wide variety of supportive tasks within their assigned department, including: product research, developing guidance documents, compiling and analyzing data, and shadowing staff.
